Matt and Nicky had invited a group of us along for a party on Saturday so we decided to take it to the harbour and have  a picnic on the foreshore for Earth Hour.

Cities around the globe were taking part to highlight global warming and Sydney was no exception, especially as Australia is where the idea originated.

For one hour from 8.30pm, office buildings, skyscrapers and landmarks turned off the lights and we were there to watch the Sydney harbour bridge, Opera House and skyline plunge into darkness.

There were still a few places lit around the harbour but even the hundreds of lights in Lunar Park were extinguished.

Usually at this point I’d post a photo but as you can imagine, there wouldn’t be much to see.
